Kebbi Governor Rescues 140 Pupils from School Fire

On Saturday evening, a fire outbreak engulfed the Nurul Haqq Qur'anic Arab School in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, prompting a swift response from the state government. Governor Comrade Nasir Idris physically supervised the emergency response, which involved the evacuation of 140 pupils from the affected hostels and classrooms.

Upon noticing thick smoke billowing from the school premises, Governor Idris instructed his convoy to stop and ascertain the cause of the smoke. Fire services were summoned and responded quickly to contain the situation.

Throughout the emergency operation, the governor remained on-site to monitor the evacuation process, ensuring the safety of all students. Fortunately, no lives were lost, and no injuries were recorded.

Governor Idris expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the outcome and warned against the use of gas cylinders in rooms occupied by students, which he noted contributed to the intensity of the fire that took firefighters four hours to extinguish.
