Bunmi Nelson Regrets Not Collaborating with Funke Akindele

Nollywood actress Bunmi Nelson expressed regret for not seizing an opportunity to collaborate with her colleague Funke Akindele, admitting she failed to recognize Akindele's potential in the past. In an interview on the ‘Talk to B’ YouTube podcast, Bunmi reflected on their history, stating, “I didn’t see Funke going far.” She warned against underestimating others, emphasizing that if she had known Funke would achieve such success, she would have supported her more.

Bunmi recounted how Funke Akindele introduced her to the Odunfa Caucus, a renowned theatre group and acting academy, after they met through a mutual friend. Despite Akindele's encouragement for Bunmi to join the film industry, Bunmi dismissed the opportunity, citing concerns about the Yoruba film industry's expectations.

She acknowledged her mistake and highlighted the importance of humility, apologizing to Kunle Afod and Sodiq Adebayo while appealing for another chance to work with Funke Akindele.
