Ifon-Osun community protests bail for alleged ritual killers

Residents of Ifon-Osun community in Orolu Local Government Area of Osun State protested against the possible bail for two men accused of ritual killing. The suspects, Tajudeen Oderinde and Mojeed Alani, are standing trial for the gruesome murder of Lukman Akorede, whose mutilated body was discovered in March 2025.

The community fears that granting bail to the suspects may result in them evading justice. They called on the state governor and Chief Judge of Osun State to intervene and demanded a probe into the circumstances surrounding the alleged bail application.

The Coordinator of Concerned Citizens of Orolu Kingdom, Adejumo Adewumi, urged international human rights organizations and civil society groups to monitor the case closely. The community emphasized the importance of ensuring that justice is served without delay and that all those involved in the heinous act are apprehended and prosecuted.
