Nigeria Police Appoints Ali Giwa as New Media Officer

The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has appointed Chief Superintendent Ali Giwa as the new media officer for the Nigeria Police Force, a position confirmed by the former media officer, Benjamin Hundeyin. This appointment is part of a newly created media office at the police headquarters in Abuja, aimed at enhancing the police's digital communication strategy and improving public awareness of its operations.

Ali Giwa brings 15 years of service experience in law enforcement, public order management, and cybersecurity, currently serving as a cybersecurity specialist at the Nigeria Police Force's National Cybercrime Center in Abuja. His previous roles include assisting the Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Logistics and Supply Department and working in the public relations office in Lagos State.

The appointment follows the approval of Anthony Placid as the new public relations officer, replacing Hundeyin. Placid has extensive experience in administrative operations and intelligence training.
