IG Disu Urges Newly Promoted DIGs to Uphold Discipline

On Monday, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu decorated newly promoted Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja. He urged the officers to uphold discipline and integrity in their professional duties.

Disu emphasized that the elevation in rank should not merely be seen as a change in insignia but as a recognition of years of dedicated service, calling for greater responsibility in leadership. He highlighted the increasing complexity of the security environment, which includes organized crime and cyber-enabled threats.

Disu charged the new DIGs to utilize their experience to strengthen intelligence-led policing and improve inter-agency collaboration. He noted that the evolving security landscape demands a proactive approach from the Nigeria Police Force, requiring leadership that is strategically focused and committed to operational excellence.

The newly promoted DIGs include Zachariah Achinyan, Zango Baba, Isyaku Moham, Margaret Challa, Moham Sulaiman, Kenechukwu Onwuemeli, Fayod Mustapha, and Umar Nadada.
