IGP Disu Decorates New DIGs, Emphasizes Professionalism

On Monday, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu decorated eight senior officers who were recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) during a ceremony at the police headquarters in Abuja. IGP Disu tasked the newly promoted DIGs to provide strategic direction and strengthen internal discipline to drive reform within the Nigeria Police Force.

He stressed the importance of ensuring that police strategies remain responsive to evolving security challenges. The IGP recognized the promotions as a testament to the officers' decades of dedicated service and urged them to leverage their experience in intelligence-led police operations and inter-agency collaboration.

He also expressed appreciation for the support of President Bola Tinubu in ensuring transparency in the promotion process and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the families of the newly decorated officers. The promoted DIGs include Zachariah Fera, Achinyan Zango, Ibrahim Baba Isyaku, Moham Margret Ageb, Ochalla Moham, Abdul Sulaiman, Kenechukwu Onwuemeli, Fayoad Adegok, Mustapha Mni, and Umar Shehu Nadada Mni, who will form part of the new force management team alongside the Force Secretary, AIG Olabod Adeley Akinbamilowo.
