IGP Disu Urges New AIGs, CPs to Reform Nigeria Police

On Monday, during a decoration ceremony for newly promoted Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs), Inspector General of Police (IGP) Disu issued a stern warning against indiscipline, abuse of office, and dereliction of duty. He urged the newly elevated officers to lead by example, reflecting discipline and integrity while ensuring strict adherence to the rule of law.

IGP Disu emphasized the importance of strong leadership and effective oversight to prevent misconduct within the Nigeria Police Force. He highlighted the need for a people-oriented approach to policing, which includes respecting human rights and being responsive to public needs.

The IGP called for innovation in operations to eliminate outdated practices and strengthen efficiency, reinforcing that promotions should be based on merit and professional competence rather than mere rewards for service.
