IGP Disu Presents N2.4bn to Families of Fallen Officers

On Wednesday, the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, presented cheques amounting to N2,435,421,584 to the families of 1,075 deceased police officers at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja. This payment is part of the group life assurance scheme and covers outstanding insurance claims from the years 2018 to 2026.

Lydia Ameh, the insurance officer, noted that the disbursement reflects the commitment of the IGP to prioritize the welfare of officers' families. Disu emphasized that the ceremony was a solemn recognition of the sacrifices made by officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

He assured that the Nigeria Police Force will enhance the welfare framework to improve administrative efficiency and eliminate delays in benefit disbursement, leveraging modern technology to streamline the claims process.
