IGP Disu Advocates Police-Community Partnership for Security

On Thursday, during the 42nd anniversary celebration of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) held in Abuja, Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu stressed the importance of police-community partnerships in securing Nigeria. He represented the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Logistics and Supply, Kenechukwu Onwuemeli.

Disu described the PCRC as a crucial pillar for community-oriented policing, asserting that security cannot solely rely on the police but requires collaboration with citizens. He noted that the future of national security depends on deeper collaboration and stronger community participation.

Disu urged the PCRC to embrace new ideas and technologies to reflect modern policing realities. Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan, the national chairman of the PCRC, commended the Nigeria Police Force's leadership and highlighted the committee's expansion beyond Nigeria to countries like the UK, Canada, and the USA.

He also mentioned a welfare package benefiting 6,000 police officers during recent celebrations.
