IGP Disu Calls for Stronger Media-Police Partnership

On a recent occasion, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Ridwan Disu praised journalists in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for their significant role in informing the public and contributing to national development. Speaking during a congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council in Abuja, Disu highlighted the importance of mutual respect between the media and the police.

He urged journalists to conduct themselves responsibly and emphasized that the media should not be treated as beggars but as respected professionals. Disu called for a stronger collaboration between the police and the media, stressing that a healthy partnership would enhance public trust and improve community security.

Grace Ik, the chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, congratulated Disu on his new appointment and expressed confidence in his leadership, assuring that the council is ready to collaborate with the police on security matters.
