PSC Promotes Seven AIGs to DIGs for Enhanced Leadership

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has promoted seven Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) to the rank of Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) in a move aimed at strengthening the leadership cadre of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The promotions, based on merit, senior service records, and performance in written examinations and oral interviews, were announced during a ceremony at the PSC headquarters in Abuja.

The newly elevated DIGs include Zachariah Fera, formerly AIG Zone 4 Makurdi; Zango Ibrahim Baba, AIG Department of Logistics and Supply; Isyaku Moham, AIG Armament Force Headquarters Abuja; Margaret Ageb Ochalla, AIG FCID Annex Lagos; Moham Abdul Sulaiman, AIG Police Account and Budget Force Headquarters; Kenechukwu Onwuemeli, AIG Zone 15 Maiduguri; and Umar Shehu Nadada, AIG Zone 14 Katsina. This promotion follows the recent elevation of DIG Fayoad Adegok to a substantive rank of DIG, filling the vacancies left by the retirement of eight DIGs.

PSC Chairman DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd) urged the new DIGs to uphold the highest professional standards and prioritize national security.
