Police Fail to Produce PFIPC Chief Before Reps Committee

On Wednesday, the Nigeria Police Force failed to present Adeyemi Adeniyi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), before the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee investigating the agency. The committee had instructed Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to ensure Adeniyi's appearance by noon.

However, police officials informed the committee that Adeniyi could not be brought forward due to a valid court remand order. The police indicated that they would need a written court warrant or other legal authorization to release him from custody for the appearance.

They expressed their willingness to cooperate with the investigation but emphasized the necessity of adhering to the existing court order. The police requested that the committee obtain the appropriate court-backed approval to facilitate Adeniyi's appearance without violating the remand order.
