IHS Partners with Spires Media for Lagos Soccer Tournament

Telecommunications infrastructure company IHS has entered into a partnership with Spires Media for the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament, which precedes the 2026 Lagos State Championship scheduled for October. The partnership was announced in Lagos on Wednesday, with the Lagos State Sports Commission's Director-General, Lekan Fatodu, in attendance.

Victor Ottah, the public relations manager for Spires Media, stated that the collaboration would extend the street football initiative beyond the pitch, incorporating community engagement strategies. IHS, which operates over 16,000 mobile phone towers in Nigeria, is expected to introduce significant innovations to the project.

Fatodu commended IHS for the partnership, noting the commission's close monitoring of Spires Media's activities over the past three years. Bankole Allibay, CEO of Spires Media, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the potential for greater achievements.

The next phase of the partnership will be revealed in collaboration with the Lagos State Football Association on September 1, while the tournament will commence on October 24, featuring 16 teams from five divisions in Lagos.
