Herizon Sports Initiative Announces 2026 Cup in Lagos

Herizon Sports Initiative (HSI) has scheduled the third edition of the Herizon Cup for November 6-7, 2026, at Bariga Stadium CMS in Lagos. This tournament is part of HSI’s commitment to developing female football in Nigeria, focusing on creating access and pathways for girls while strengthening grassroots football.

The event will feature 8 female football academies and over 200 players, with an anticipated attendance of 1,000 to 1,500 spectators, including sports administrators, corporate leaders, and scouts. Since its inception in 2024, HSI has doubled participation in the Herizon Cup from 4 teams in 2024 to 8 teams in 2025, engaging over 260 young female footballers and reaching more than 600 stakeholders.

HSI has also organized the Ibidoyin Aina Cup and the Lagos Queens Cup, which attracted international scouts. Ibidiyoin Aina, the Founder of HSI, emphasized the tournament's role in empowering young girls in sports.
