Driver Remanded After Clash with Lagos Task Force

The Lagos State Police Command provided details regarding a viral video involving a driver, Lateef Adeyemo, who was remanded following a confrontation with the Lagos State Task Force during a traffic enforcement operation on the Mile 12 corridor. The incident occurred early on a Monday morning around 6:30 AM when officers attempted to intercept Adeyemo for making a wrong turn and driving against traffic, violating Lagos State road traffic regulations.

In an attempt to evade arrest, he reportedly reversed his vehicle, damaging a commercial minibus and putting other road users at risk. The situation escalated as Adeyemo allegedly incited bystanders, leading to a brief mob attack on the task force personnel.

He was later arrested and arraigned at a mobile court in Oshodi on five counts, including conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and malicious damage. The police emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic laws and warned against spreading misleading information that could incite public tension.
