Ikpeba Opposes FIFA Normalisation Committee for NFF

Ikpeba, a former African Footballer of the Year, has expressed concerns regarding the potential establishment of a FIFA Normalisation Committee to manage the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) amid recent failures in Nigerian football. Stakeholders are reportedly considering this move, which would prevent the NFF Elective Congress scheduled for September 27 in Lafia, Nasarawa State, from taking place.

Ikpeba cautions that the calls for a normalisation committee could derail the football system instead of facilitating a beneficial transition. He acknowledges the despair following the Super Falcons' failure to qualify for the World Cup and the Super Eagles' absence from the recent tournament in the USA.

Ikpeba argues that appointing a normalisation committee is unnecessary, as there is no internal conflict within the NFF, and warns that an overheated system could negatively impact all national teams.
