Nigeria Deploys Team to Resolve Passport Issues in UK

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the deployment of an Intervention Team to the United Kingdom to address passport issues for Nigerians living abroad. This initiative, disclosed by NIS spokesperson DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, is part of ongoing efforts to streamline passport applications for the diaspora.

The deployment was directed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and is scheduled to take place on August 10, 2026. The team will collaborate with the Nigerian High Commission to process pending, new, and renewal passport applications.

The intervention will cover designated cities across the UK, allowing eligible applicants to enroll and process their passports. This service is available to those with pending applications, new applicants, and individuals whose passports are nearing expiration.

Akinlabi advised applicants to await the official schedule before attending any location and to monitor the Nigerian High Commission's communication channels for further details.
