Imo APC Screens 107 Aspirants for Assembly Seats

The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted a screening exercise for 107 aspirants vying for 27 state house of assembly seats in preparation for the forthcoming general elections. The disclosure was made by Judith Inamoto, the chairperson of the state screening committee, at the party's secretariat on Okigwe Road, Owerri.

The screening process took two days, with 36 aspirants screened on the first day and 71 on the second. Inamoto explained that the exercise aimed to clarify the aspirants' eligibility and enable their participation in the party primaries.

She described the process as transparent and noted that the aspirants were satisfied with the proceedings. Osinachi Amako, an aspirant contesting for the Owerri West state constituency seat, characterized the exercise as peaceful and expressed confidence in the APC's strength.

He emphasized the party's commitment to empowering the people of the constituency and promised to extend an olive branch to all aspirants to ensure a united front in the primaries.
