Imo Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robber in Isiala Mbano

On April 2, 2026, at 0600 hours, operatives from the Imo State Police, specifically the Anti-Narcotics Unit under the Orji Police Division, arrested a suspected armed robber during a patrol based on credible intelligence. The operation took place near Bishop's Court, close to Pacific Hotel in Isiala Mbano LGA.

The suspect sustained a gunshot wound during a failed criminal operation. Following interrogation, he confessed to being part of a five-man armed robbery gang and provided information that could aid in apprehending other fleeing members.

The police recovered incriminating exhibits, including two locally fabricated firearms, five live cartridges, four smartphones, and a wristwatch belonging to a victim. The suspect and the recovered items were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Owerri for discreet investigations and potential prosecution.
