Police Arrest Two Robbery Suspects in Imo State

The Imo State Police Command arrested two robbery suspects, Sohnani Bitru, aged 25, and another individual, following an operation based on credible intelligence. The operation, conducted at the New Owerri Division headquarters, led to the recovery of a stolen motorcycle with the registration number NWA765QT and a pump-action rifle.

The suspects were implicated in a robbery that occurred at the residence of Joel Andrew around 4:00 AM, where they threatened him with a firearm and unlawfully seized his motorcycle. Further interrogation of the suspects resulted in the recovery of a machete at their hideout in Okwu Uratta, Owerri North Local Government Area.

DSP Henri Okoy, the spokesperson for the command, stated that the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Owerri for further investigation. Mr.

Audu Bosso, the Commissioner of Police, emphasized the need for adequate security measures to protect Imo residents during the Easter celebrations and urged the public to provide credible information to the police.
