Edo Farmers Resume Activities Thanks to Security Improvements

Farmers in Edo State have started returning to their abandoned farms after years of insecurity, including kidnappings that resulted in the loss of several lives. This resurgence is attributed to improved security measures by Governor Monday Okpebholo's administration, which has restored confidence among farmers.

Alhaji Bako Dogwo, President of the Integrated Farmers Association of Nigeria (IFAN) and Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), made this announcement during an event where Mr. Jarrett Tenebe was installed as Patron of Edo farmers. Dogwo praised the Okpebholo administration for enhancing security, which has encouraged farmers to resume their agricultural activities.

He noted that around 2,000 farmers are currently registered under the Federated Farmers Community Association. Hon. Prince Henry Ebole, representing the State Federated FADAMA Farmers, also commended the administration's SHINE agenda and pledged farmers' support for the APC.

Tenebe expressed gratitude for the patronage and emphasized the importance of sustained security for agricultural productivity and food supply.
