Tinubu Urges UN Members to Adopt Charter Preamble

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu called on member states of the United Nations to include the preamble of the UN Charter in their national constitutions. This appeal was made by Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, Nigeria's permanent representative to the UN, during a meeting at the UN headquarters in New York.

Tinubu believes that adopting the preamble will strengthen shared values among member states and serve as a permanent reminder of their collective responsibility to uphold universal principles of peace, justice, and human dignity. The proposal aims to deepen member states' commitment to preserving international peace and security, protecting fundamental human rights, promoting justice, respecting international law, and advancing social progress.

Ibrahim welcomed the support for this initiative, which reflects Nigeria's commitment to multilateralism and the promotion of sustainable development and global solidarity.
