INEC Announces Date To Launch Continuous Voter Registration in Lagos State

INEC has announced the launch date for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Lagos State, starting on August 18, 2025. The process will begin with an online phase, followed by biometric capturing from August 25, 2025.

The registration exercise is set to run until August 30, 2026, with physical registration taking place from Monday to Friday at INEC LGA offices and the state secretariat. Eligible participants include Nigerian citizens aged 18 and above, individuals replacing lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), those transferring voter registration within the state, and those updating personal information.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Salami Ayobami, emphasized that registering underage voters and multiple registrations are strictly forbidden, with violators facing prosecution. This initiative aims to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process in Lagos State.
