INEC Commences 50-Day Voter Registration in Akwa Ibom State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started a 50-day voter registration exercise in Akwa Ibom state. The registration began at the ward level on a Monday and will continue for 50 days.

INEC's Head of Department of Voter Education and Publicity, Bukola Ojem Ojem, stated that the exercise is designed to make voter registration more accessible to the grassroots. Eligible citizens are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to register at the INEC ward collation centers across the 329 wards in the state.

The exercise will see two wards from each local government area attending daily, with a total of 50 days allocated for the process. INEC has emphasized the need for transparency and warned against the use of unauthorized registration centers.

The voter enrollment devices will rotate among wards to ensure comprehensive coverage. The exercise will also involve the movement of registration centers from local government offices to wards and back, ensuring full participation.
