NOA and INEC Collaborate to Boost Voter Registration in Akwa Ibom State

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have joined forces to intensify the continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise in Akwa Ibom State. Mr.

Mkpoutom Mkpoutom, the NOA Director in the state, disclosed this during the launch of a ward-level sensitization campaign to boost voter registration in Eket. The initiative aims to increase civic engagement and ensure eligible citizens are registered to vote in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

INEC has commenced the second phase of CVR nationwide, encouraging newly eligible citizens, especially those who have just turned 18 or have not registered before, to register, update their voter details, or obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). The state director emphasized the importance of mobilizing youth, women, men, professionals, traders, farmers, students, and other eligible voters in Akwa Ibom to register, highlighting that a high registration turnout will demonstrate the state's readiness for future elections.
