INEC Launches Online Voter Registration for 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened online access to the preliminary register of voters for the 2027 general election. This decision follows concerns from Nigerians and stakeholders regarding the accessibility of the list.
The online register is available at https://display.inecnigeria.org and complements the physical display conducted nationwide from October 9 to 15, 2026, as mandated by Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026. During the physical display, registered voters could inspect their details and submit claims and objections.
INEC stated that the online publication aims to enhance public access and strengthen transparency in the electoral process. Although no new period for submitting claims and objections was announced, INEC is processing those from the physical display in line with the Electoral Act, 2026.
The final register of voters is scheduled for certification and publication on December 15, 2026.
