APC's Joshua Ishaku Wins Bwari Chairmanship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mr. Joshua Ishaku of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Bwari Area Council chairmanship election held on February 21, 2026.

Ishaku received a total of 18,466 votes, thereby fulfilling the requirements of the law to be declared the winner. Prof.

Moham Nurudeen was responsible for announcing the results, which indicated that the candidate from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) scored 4,254 votes, while the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) candidate garnered 3,515 votes, placing them in second and third positions, respectively. The election was conducted across 10 wards within the Bwari area, which includes locations such as Igu, Shere, Duts, Ushafa, Byazhin, Kuduru, Kubwa, Usuma, Bwari Central, and Kawu.
