INEC Denies Nafiu Bala's Access to Nomination Portal

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted claims made by Nafiu Bala's faction regarding access to its nomination portal for candidate uploads. Victoria Eta Messi, INEC's Director of Voter Education and Publicity, described Bala's claims as untrue, asserting that he is not recognized as the national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

INEC's official political party portal lists David Mark as the national chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as the national secretary, indicating that Bala's faction does not hold official recognition by INEC for nomination purposes. This development occurs amidst a prolonged leadership crisis within the ADC, with rival factions contesting the party's national leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Controversy has intensified following reports that Bala's faction secured INEC's access code to upload candidates, a claim that INEC firmly denied.
