INEC Launches Online Accreditation for June 20 Bye-Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the commencement of online accreditation for media organizations in preparation for the high-stakes bye-elections scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026. This notice was released on Friday, with INEC urging interested media houses to complete their accreditation promptly via the commission's official accreditation portal.

The electoral body emphasized that late applications would not be considered, reiterating its strict stance on deadlines. The elections will take place across key constituencies nationwide, including Dawaki Kudu, Warawa Federal Constituency in Kano State, Zuru State Constituency in Kebbi State, Ondo South Senatorial District, Rivers South East Senatorial District, Nasarawa North Senatorial District, and Enugu North Senatorial District.

INEC described the accreditation process as a critical step to ensure transparency and effective media coverage, anticipating significant political attention across the affected regions.
