INEC Publishes Credentials for 2027 Election Candidates

On Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published the personal particulars and credentials of candidates contesting the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections for public inspection. This publication aligns with the electoral timetable for the upcoming general election.

Among the candidates whose credentials were displayed are President Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima. The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, also had their documents published.

Additionally, Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), along with his running mate Rotimi Amaechi, had their details made available. The publication allows public inspection of the candidates' personal information, academic qualifications, and other credentials submitted to INEC, promoting transparency in the nomination process as part of the commission’s preparations for the 2027 general election.
