INEC Records 69,376 Registrants Hours After Peter Obi Urges Nigerians to Get PVC

INEC has seen a surge in voter registration, with 69,376 registrants within hours of launching the online phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. This increase in registration comes after former presidential candidate Peter Obi urged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC).

The online registration portal is now live and accessible 24/7 on the official INEC website, providing a convenient platform for eligible Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. INEC has also announced that starting on August 25, 2025, 37 State Offices and 774 Local Government Area (LGA) Offices will facilitate biometric verification and the collection of voter services.

The commission has strategically located registration centers to ensure accessibility for all Nigerians, regardless of their geographic location.
