INEC Records 4.4M Online Registrations in CVR Exercise, Young Voters Active

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria has recorded over 4.4 million online registrations as part of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. The online registration process, which began on August 18, has seen nearly equal gender distribution with a focus on young people aged 18-34, including students.

INEC disclosed that physical registrations are ongoing nationwide, with a total of Nigerians completing the process. The detailed distribution of online completed registrations by state, gender, age, occupation, and disability has been uploaded to the official INEC website for public access.

The exercise is set to continue with physical registration options available until October 8, with plans to expand registration centers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
