INEC, stakeholders move to improve voter registration in Kebbi

INEC in Kebbi State recently organized a stakeholder roundtable meeting to enhance participation in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abubakar Sarkin Pawa Dambo, emphasized the importance of receiving input and addressing complaints from political parties, civil society organizations, and the media to ensure a smooth registration process.

Stakeholders called for an extension of the registration exercise, improved logistics, and public awareness campaigns to boost turnout. Dambo clarified that voter registration is a right for every Nigerian aged 18 and above, with INEC responsible for transporting registrants to designated centers.

The meeting, attended by representatives from political parties, civil society groups, and the National Council of Women Societies, highlighted the need for collaboration and inclusiveness in the registration process.
