Mixed reactions trail online registration as CVR begins nationwide today

The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise has begun nationwide, with mixed reactions from eligible individuals. Some in Kano State reported network issues while trying to register online, leading to concerns about the INEC server's accessibility.

However, others like Mr. Emmanuel Jacob successfully registered online, emphasizing the importance of the process.

In Kwara and Ondo states, residents praised the smooth online registration process, highlighting its convenience. INEC officials in various states, including Kano, Ekiti, and Akwa Ibom, have encouraged eligible voters to participate in the exercise, emphasizing the importance of collecting Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and engaging in the democratic process.

The online registration platform aims to reduce congestion at registration centers, with a significant number of young people aged 18-34 taking advantage of the initiative. The CVR exercise is expected to continue until August 2026, with online registration followed by biometric capture at designated centers nationwide.
