INEC Accredits 98 Observer Groups for Ekiti Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has accredited 98 observer groups for the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election, set for June 20, 2026. This includes 96 domestic organizations and two foreign groups.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday, signed by Mr. Victoria Eta Messi, the Director of Voter Education and Publicity.

The accredited organizations represent a broad spectrum of civil society groups, professional bodies, and electoral experts, including notable entities such as Yiaga Africa and the CLEEN Foundation. INEC emphasized the critical role of these observer groups in enhancing public confidence in the electoral process and urged them to adhere to strict guidelines for non-partisan conduct.

The commission reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a credible and transparent electoral process, ensuring stakeholders are assured of the integrity of the election.
