INEC Offers Biometric Tech Support to JAMB for Exams

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has proposed to assist the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) by providing biometric verification technology to enhance the integrity of JAMB's examinations. This offer was made on Friday during a courtesy visit by JAMB Registrar, Prof Segun Aina, and his management team to INEC headquarters in Abuja.

Prof Aina stated that JAMB sought INEC's support due to its expertise in biometric verification and expressed interest in utilizing INEC's biometric verification machines that may no longer be in active use. INEC Chairman, Prof Joash Amupitan, SAN, welcomed the delegation and acknowledged JAMB's significant role in national development.

He directed the Director of ICT to assess the availability and suitability of INEC’s biometric equipment for JAMB's potential use. Prof Amupitan emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two agencies to advance national development.
