Nigeria's Information Minister Urges Action to Improve Global Reputation

Nigeria's Information Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, highlighted the country's poor global reputation and urged for immediate action during the Nigeria Reputational Summit 2026 in Abuja. He emphasized the importance of portraying Nigeria's realities accurately to combat negative perceptions.

Former Governor Babatunde Fashola also advocated for systematic training of Nigerian ambassadors to enhance the country's image abroad. The Minister addressed challenges like insecurity and economic pressures, stressing the need for positive development narratives.

He cautioned against amplifying fear and false narratives, urging a collective responsibility to protect and manage Nigeria's reputation.
