Insecurity: Fulani cattle breeders worst affected — Miyetti Allah

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has highlighted the severe impact of insecurity on Fulani cattle breeders in the country. The national president, Alhaji Baba Nglzarma, revealed that many herder families have been forced to relocate outside Nigeria due to security challenges such as banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and terrorism.

Nglzarma emphasized that Fulani pastoralists are the worst affected by these issues, with significant losses in cattle and lives. MACBAN condemned the ethnic profiling of Fulani people as criminal elements and called for collaboration between host communities, indigenous Fulani, and stakeholders to address the security challenges.

The association is working with various stakeholders to ensure peaceful coexistence and find sustainable solutions to end the practice of herders wandering with their cattle.
