Insecurity: INEC Relocates Four CVR Centres In Borno To Maiduguri

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has relocated four Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) centers in Borno State to Maiduguri due to insecurity. The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) made this announcement during a press briefing, stating that the affected local government areas are Abadam, Guzamala, Kala Balge, and Marte.

The new location in Maiduguri is considered safer for the registration process. The CVR exercise will be conducted in three phases, starting from August 18, 2025, to August 30, 2026.

Phase One will begin with online registration on August 18, followed by physical registration on August 25. Prospective registrants can book appointments online before visiting the INEC offices for physical registration.

The REC assured that the registration process will be inclusive, with special provisions for persons with disabilities. The exercise will run from 9 am to 3 pm on weekdays, excluding public holidays.
