Rep Gagdi Advocates Death Penalty for Murder Convicts

On a Saturday broadcast on Silverbird Rhythm 93.7 FM, Rep Gagdi from Plateau State expressed his belief that individuals convicted of murder deserve the death penalty instead of rehabilitation. He criticized the use of public funds for rehabilitating individuals accused of killing innocent citizens, arguing that such policies undermine justice and fail to deter crime.

Gagdi stated that anyone who takes a life should not be rehabilitated, emphasizing that the state should not utilize taxpayer money for this purpose. He also disclosed that security operations are conducted alongside rehabilitation efforts for former insurgents, but he does not trust rehabilitated Boko Haram members, citing instances where they have leaked operational information to criminal groups.

Gagdi firmly believes that violent offenders, particularly insurgents, do not benefit from rehabilitation initiatives.
