Oyo State Restricts Motorcyclists to Enhance Security

On Friday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde announced an executive order restricting commercial motorcyclists, commonly referred to as Okada riders, from operating between the hours of 10:30 PM and 5:30 AM across the state. This decision is part of additional security measures aimed at curbing criminal activities and improving public safety.

The announcement was made during a video address to the residents of Oyo State, where Makinde reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring the safe return of abducted teachers and schoolchildren from Oriir Local Government Area. He expressed the pain of families affected by the ongoing abductions and emphasized that the government would not relent until those individuals are safely returned.

While details of the ongoing rescue operations could not be disclosed due to security considerations, Makinde assured the public that significant efforts are being made behind the scenes in collaboration with security agencies. He urged residents to support these agencies and report any suspicious activities promptly.
