YPP Demands Action Against Terror Financiers in Nigeria

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has urged the federal government to identify, arrest, and prosecute individuals and organizations financing terrorism, warning that insecurity will persist unless these sponsors are brought to justice. During a press conference in Abuja on Monday, YPP National Chairman Bishop Amakiri criticized the current administration for its failure to effectively address insecurity, alleging a lack of sufficient political will to end terrorist insurgency.

He expressed concern over the continued rehabilitation and reintegration of repentant terrorists, questioning the impact of the trillions of naira spent on defense and security over the past decade, which has not significantly reduced terrorist activities or improved the welfare of security personnel. Amakiri cited recent abductions of students and teachers in Oyo and Borno states as evidence of the government's slow response to insecurity.

He called for the National Assembly to impose stricter oversight on defense spending and urged regular training for security personnel to enhance counter-terrorism operations.
