YPP Urges Tinubu to Expand Oyo Rescue Strategy Nationwide

The Young Progress Party (YPP) called on President Bola Tinubu to replicate the successful rescue strategy employed in Oyo State across Nigeria to address the ongoing issue of kidnapping. This statement followed the rescue of 57 individuals, including pupils and a teacher, who had been abducted in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The YPP, represented by its National Public Secretary Wale Egbeola, praised the security agencies for their coordinated efforts that led to the safe release of the victims and the neutralization of the terrorists involved. The party argued that decisive security actions, rather than ransom negotiations, are essential in combating terrorism and kidnapping.

They expressed concern over the increasing number of attacks on schools, particularly in Borno State, and warned that such assaults could worsen Nigeria's educational crisis. The YPP reiterated its long-standing position against negotiating with armed groups and called for strengthened security measures to protect educational institutions and ensure the safety of Nigerian children.
