Soldier Allegedly Kills NYSC Member in Abuja Apartment

Abdulsamad Jamiu, known as Kesh, was shot and killed by soldiers in his apartment in Shagari Estate, Dei Dei, Abuja, on Saturday morning. His cousin, Yusuf Enesi Adeiza, described Jamiu as disciplined and focused, recalling his unusual farewell to friends before the incident.

The family alleges that soldiers entered the apartment without confirming the identity of the occupants and fired shots, resulting in Jamiu's death. Sani Jimoh, Jamiu's father, suspects that the soldiers targeted his son and rejects the military's claim that the incident was a case of mistaken identity during a robbery.

He received a distress call around 2 AM on Saturday informing him of the shooting. The family is calling for an independent investigation outside military control, demanding accountability and transparency.

Protests have erupted in the area, with residents joining the call for justice. The Nigerian Army has not responded to the latest allegations.
