Borno Community Relies on Cameroon for Water Amid Infrastructure Challenges

In a Borno community in Gwoza Local Government Area, residents face challenges accessing potable water after being displaced by Boko Haram attacks in October 2025. The villagers have resorted to traveling to Cameroon to fetch water due to the absence of basic amenities like good roads, water, and healthcare facilities.

Governor Babagana Zulum has visited the community to assess the situation and has promised to construct a new hospital and water facilities to address the residents' needs. The lack of infrastructure has led to daily struggles for water, affecting children's education and daily routines.

Despite the governor's assurances, residents continue to face difficulties accessing basic necessities.
