ICPC Declares SGF Project Office Fake Amid Dispute

An internal conflict between George Nwabueze, the promoter of the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office, and certain directors in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation has resulted in the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) labeling the project office as a fake agency. Sources within the SGF office indicated that the directors, in a bid to settle scores with Nwabueze, misled the ICPC into believing the project office was illegitimate.

An anonymous official stated that the ICPC failed to conduct proper due diligence before declaring the project office a fake agency. The ICPC's statement, which mentioned that the President ordered Nwabueze's arrest, has not resulted in any arrests eight days later, with a source confirming that Nwabueze remains at large and not in custody.
