EFCC Converts NOK University to Federal Institution

Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), reported that NOK University in Kachia, Kaduna State, has been transformed into the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK) after being recovered from a forfeiture case. In December 2025, the institution matriculated 1,909 students, providing educational opportunities to young people who might not have otherwise attended university.

Olukoyede indicated that the university is expected to positively impact the local economy in Southern Kaduna. He also mentioned another private university, which he described as “high value,” that has recently been forfeited to the Federal Government, likely referring to Rayhaan University in Kebbi State, which was forfeited on July 15, 2026.

The EFCC has secured the forfeiture of over 10,000 assets, returning ₦12.07 billion to the Federal Government, and aims to strengthen government revenue and deter future crimes.
