Inter Miami Tops Chicago Fire 3-2 in Lewandowski's Debut

On Wednesday, Inter Miami triumphed over Chicago Fire with a score of 3-2, marking Robert Lewandowski's debut in Major League Soccer. Lewandowski, who joined Chicago Fire from Barcelona, played 63 minutes in the match.

Miami was without Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul, who were rested after Argentina's recent World Cup final loss. Chicago initially led with an own goal by Miami's goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo in the 18th minute.

Luis Suárez equalized with a penalty in the 27th minute and then scored again six minutes into the second half. Chicago's Puso Dithejane leveled the score in the 67th minute, but Preston Plambeck secured the win for Miami with a goal three minutes from time.

This victory placed Miami second in the Eastern Conference standings with 34 points, five points behind leaders Nashville. Miami coach Guillermo Hoyos stated there was no pressure on Messi and De Paul to return immediately, acknowledging the physical and mental toll of the World Cup.
