‘Interior Minister Cleared 200,000 Passports, Created 30,000 Jobs’

Interior Minister Dr. Olubunmi has been praised for clearing a backlog of 200,000 passports and creating 30,000 jobs during his two-year tenure.

The Minister's reforms also included promoting officers in paramilitary agencies, improving inmate welfare in correctional centers, and introducing initiatives like a furniture and leather shoe factory for inmates. The Minister's achievements were highlighted by a spokesperson for the Progressives Congress in Rivers State, who commended the Minister for his model service delivery and innovative approach.

The Minister's introduction of enhanced passport facilities, contactless biometric passports, and centralizing the passport process were also noted as key milestones. Additionally, the Minister secured presidential approval to employ more Nigerians in paramilitary agencies, demonstrating a commitment to service and resource management.
