IPOB Orders South-East Shutdown Demanding Nnamdi Kanu's Release

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has directed a region-wide shutdown in South-East Nigeria on Monday, demanding the release of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu. The group criticized the Anambra State government for sealing a major market, accusing Governor Chukwuma Soludo of targeting traders.

IPOB insists the shutdown is a voluntary protest to show solidarity and reject economic sabotage. The group emphasizes non-violence and urges residents to remain calm during the protest.

Governor Soludo had ordered the temporary closure of Onitsha main market due to continued observance of the Monday sit-at-home directive, despite assurances of safety.
